The Welsh Assembly
Government operates two grant schemes for local voluntary organisations
working in the mental health field:
1. The Local Mental
Health Scheme (LMHGS) the LMHGS is administered by the Wales Council
for Voluntary Action (WCVA) on behalf of the Welsh Assembly Government.
The scheme funds county mental health development workers and a range
of local voluntary organisation projects. Activities supported include
drop-in centres, supported accommodation, activity programmes and information
and support services.
2. Support for People
with Disabilities Grant Scheme (SPD) the SPD grant scheme is operated
by local authorities on behalf of the Welsh Assembly Government. The scheme
encourages and enables social service departments to work in partnership
